On last 16th January, the University of Palermo (prof. Gaetano Zizzo), the University of Salerno (prof. Pierluigi Siano) and Engineering I.I. (Diego Arnone) organized the Workshop “Innovative solutions for the aggregation of smart prosumer: the DEMAND project”, supported by the Italian Association of Electric, Electronic, Information and Telecommunication Engineers (AEIT) in collaboration with the Order of Engineers of the Province of Palermo. The workshop, planned since the beginning of the DEMAND project, was an overview of the research initiative as well as a wide discussion about the topics covered by the project and the past experience of the partners in past projects. More than 40 people, students and engineers, industry representatives as well as professionals, attended very actively the workshop by asking many questions, mostly about the approach, the solution adopted, the technology and the regulatory framework. The workshop was also the opportunity to explain how the concept of autonomous and temporary bottom-up aggregation of prosumers is not so far from the current trends come up from the new directives emanated by ARERA (the Italian authority).
